My cat throws up undigested food. Can enzymes and probiotics help?

There's no evidence at all that these kind of supplements work, but if it does help with one of your cat's issues with vomiting, it's no harm to keep using it. Probiotics I only recommend when an animal is ill, such as with intestinal issues.

I would recommend using a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora. I have used this product many times and have not seen many cases that vomited from this probiotic. Issues such as a hairball or parasites can cause vomiting, along with functional issues that may be causing problems with digestion. Other issues can include food allergies (male cats tend to be allergic to ingredients such as fish or chicken in their foods) or even an issue with how often you are feeding Aries. Smaller meals more often can sometimes help vomiting if it's every morning, especially if Aries goes all night without any food. Offering a small meal right before bed (or a treat) can sometimes keep the stomach full enough to keep it from getting too empty and causing vomiting. However, since this has been prolonged and there are so many potential causes, a vet visit is always best.

I am personally not a fan of grain free diets unless the pet has a proven grain allergy due to the issues with dogs right now and grain free diets (heart disease). This issues hasn't been reported in the cat grain free diets. I have no problem with the Nutro you pictured above IF it solves Greyson's chronic vomiting problem Give him 2-3 months on the diet and if it significantly reduces the vomiting I am fine with it. Hello. Some veterinary nutritional specialists do recommend feeding cats only a wet diet, & some even go so far as to recommend not feeding anything with fish. There is no harm in slowly switching Linus to a canned meat or poultry diet, but if this does not stop or slow down the vomiting, you may have to try a truly hypoallergenic diet such as Hill's z/d. It may be a dietary intolerance to the Science Diet food. You can try switching to a different brand or try feeding wet food instead of dry. If Gucci still vomits after trying a different food, then there may be another cause for the vomiting, such as hairballs, acid reflux, eating too fast, or even disorders with the stomach or intestines that delay digestion. You can discuss these possibilities with your vet, and they may recommend medications or diagnostics such as ultrasound or a barium study to see if things are moving through his system with the normal speed or not.

If yogurt is helping it is possible there could be an issue with the digestive tract flora, either from a food allergy, antibiotics, or other health issues. There are prescription veterinary probiotics available from your vet that may be useful to give Adzuki longer term if you've noticed probiotics are helping.
