Are digestive enzymes and probiotics good for cats with vomiting?

This is very unlikely to solve the problem, Orijen is one of the best cat food out there, if one of your cat is vomiting quite often this is probably non related to the food. there could be many reason for chronic vomiting, you should take him to the vet in order to get it checked.

I would recommend using a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora. I have used this product many times and have not seen many cases that vomited from this probiotic. If yogurt is helping it is possible there could be an issue with the digestive tract flora, either from a food allergy, antibiotics, or other health issues. There are prescription veterinary probiotics available from your vet that may be useful to give Adzuki longer term if you've noticed probiotics are helping. I would schedule a visit with your vet to rule out any other health issues, and let them know how this has helped.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I don't think cats or dogs need probiotics if they are healthy. I do like them for gastro-intestinal issues. I like Purina Fortiflora, you can find it online. Cats really like it. If you want to use probiotics in a healthy cat it won't hurt them. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry that Angel has been so sick! Usually the need for pancreatic enzyme supplementation is based on blood work. Usually the TLI (a pancreatic enzyme) is low. Pancreatic enzyme are used to treat exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Which can result from chronic pancreatitis as can Diabetes. Use in dogs and cats is considered off label, so you would have to discuss the use in Angel with a Vet that has examined her. Cats reportedly hate the taste but may accept the powder if mixed with fish/tuna oil and then thoroughly mixed with a canned food. If using solid dosage forms (enteric-coated tablets or compounded capsules made from powder or crushed tablets) be certain that immediately after dosing, water or food is consumed to reduce the risk for esophageal damage. You may also want to consider a probiotic, like Purina Fortiflora. I hope this helps and I wish you and Angel the best!

Usually a probiotic would help diarrhea, however some probiotics and digestive enzyme supplements are more like treats with a lot of other ingredients that might cause stomach upset. As long as Kitty is eating and drinking normally with no vomiting I think it’s okay to wait 1-2 days for it to resolve. If the diarrhea is very frequent or watery or has blood present you should see your vet right away. It should be fine to try pumpkin now, but sometimes excess fiber makes diarrhea worse so I would stop after two tries if you don’t see improvement. And even though it isn’t pleasant to think about, cats lick their own feces all the time when they’re grooming. Nothing to worry about!

I am personally not a fan of grain free diets unless the pet has a proven grain allergy due to the issues with dogs right now and grain free diets (heart disease). This issues hasn't been reported in the cat grain free diets. I have no problem with the Nutro you pictured above IF it solves Greyson's chronic vomiting problem Give him 2-3 months on the diet and if it significantly reduces the vomiting I am fine with it.
