My two cats vomited pink liquid but seem fine. What should I do?

The pink vomit is concerning. It’s possible they ingested some of the steel wool and it’s caused damage or significant irritation the the upper GI tract. I recommend to play it safe and have both cats examined by the veterinarian today. The veterinarian may take some radiographs as the steel should show up. They can also provide medication to protect any damaged areas if needed. Keep in mind other things can cause blood in the vomit as well. It sounds like your cat is having some issues which could be related to the Vietnamese food you fed it last night or cats can get something call triaditis which is inflammation of the pancreas, liver, and small intestine and gallbladder. Because of the frequency of vomiting and the likelihood that its blood that you're seeing in the vomit I recommend your cat see a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Poor cats. Yes cats can catch bugs and get ill just like people can. And since both were sick simultaneously, it has to be something they both got into and ingested or were exposed to. It is very odd that nothing has changed in their environment, so finding out the culprit is going to be tough. You also may want t check with the company that made the filter you just changed just to make sure no recalls exist. Also I would consider just changing the filter altogether just to cover every possibility here. Also make sure that there also isn’t any chance of them getting into medications in the home as well. Regardless of that, they should be seen by your vet if they are still not eating and unwell. That is a long time to go without a good appetite, especially for a cat, and at the very least the vet can give them anti-nausea medicine, antibiotics (if indicated), and fluids to treat for any undelrying dehydration. Pink diarrhea can be caused by eating foods with a lot of red dye, but you would usually see the stools be a rust color, not pink. I would be more concerned that there is blood in the stool causing the off color. Bloody diarrhea (and chronic vomiting and diarrhea) in a cat can be caused by food intolerance or allergies, intestinal parasites, bacterial or viral gastroenteritis (such as panleukopenia virus), GI blockage, inflammatory bowel disease, among others. I would recommend that you have another visit with the vet about the ongoing issues and the change in color of the diarrhea to see what is the next diagnostic step.

As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken (white fish) and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Poor kitty. Vomiting and diarrhea in a such a young kitty can be caused by a bacterial or viral infection in most cases. If kitty gets into things it can also be causaed by a foreign body ingestion. I would highly recommend taking this fur ball to your local vet for a thorough check up and medications to stop the vomtiing and potentially antibiotics may be needed.. That's definitely concerning. Bombay could have something stuck in his intestines, an intestinal parasite, or even a metabolic problem. I would recommend getting him to the clinic this week for an exam and some x-rays to see if they can find a cause. He could also have vomited once because of eating something strange or a virus, and the vomiting itself irritated his stomach so he keeps vomiting - sometime treatment with fluids and an anti-vomiting medication is all that is needed to settle these guys down, but it's important to do testing first to make sure nothing else is going on.
