Why is my foster kitten vomiting pink liquid and having diarrhea?

I am sorry Sock is not feeling well. This much vomiting is not normal. I would be concerned about a foreign body causing obstruction, infection or even possible coccidia. I would recommend taking Socks to the vet for additional testing like an x-ray of the abdomen and even possible blood work. the concern is dehydration and weight loss with the vomiting. With kittens, I am mostly concerned about infections. Luckily, most of these are treatable, so getting him to the vet as soon as possible will make a big difference in keeping him from getting dangerously sick. Poor girl. At her age, I would be most concerned about intestinal parasites or viral or bacterial infection. I would recommend a vet visit ASAP since she's have vomiting and diarrhea and could become dangerously dehydrated or hypoglycemia at her age.

Cats need to eat, if they go more than a few days without eating they can develop serious liver problems which can be fatal. Continuous vomiting for so many hours is very exhausting and dehydrating, so your kitten likely needs some medical intervention to get better. Your vet will do an exam, labwork, possibly x-rays, and based on these results, your vet will have a better idea what is going on and can better advise you about treatment options.

I would recommend taking Mushy to the vet for evaluation. Kittens don't typically start eating solid food until 6 weeks, 5 weeks at the earliest. Then they should be eating a balanced kitten food. Canned tuna doesn't have all of the nutrients her body needs to grow properly. Vomiting and diarrhea in a kitten can be very serious and they can get dehydrated very quickly. Common causes include dietary intolerance, obstruction, viral or bacterial infection, intestinal parasites, etc.
