My cat ate steel wool and is throwing up pink. Do I need a vet?

If you switched their diets recently without mixing the new/old food graduallly, it could be that. Or, they may both have worm infections. Or, they both got into the same thing like eating trash, or stealing human food, etc. If there is no more vomiting, I wouldn't worry. If the vomiting continues, they need to be examined by a veterinarian. Hope that helps!

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do back home and he needs to be seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible as this type of foreign body can cause chronic inflammation and sit down in the gastrointestinal system for long time if not removed appropriately. I am sorry matcha is not feeling well. I would recommend trying to find a veterinarian and take him in as soon as possible. Vomiting with blood can happen secondary to gastric upset , toxins and even foreign material. It is best he gets looked to determine the cause and provide proper treatment. In the mean time I would offer good and a bland diet to help calm his stomach. I hope that helps

As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken (white fish) and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. If she/he did eat something red colored within the past three hours, then I'd assume this is causing this appearance. If not, then it's likely blood, which indicates an esophageal or gastric ulcer. I'm glad to hear that she vomited the towel up! My concern is that there is other towel material or other foreign material that she ingested in the trash can. I'm glad that she seems to be eating normally now, but if she vomits or refuses her food at any point, take her to the vet. They will be able to perform an exam and abdominal x-rays to try to rule out the presence of more foreign material causing an obstruction in her stomach and/or intestines.
