My cat is vomiting pink/yellow liquid and won't eat. What's wrong?

Hi Dr, My cat has vomited many times since last night, at first there was some food in the vomit but now there is only slightly pink and yellow liquid in it. She refuses to eat, she seems tired but I don't think she's in pain. She doesn't have diarrhea either. Yesterday I fed her with a special meal (a Vietnamese cuisine made from beef, rice and some noodles) which is different from what she normally has. However, she had this kind of meal several times before and she didn't vomit or get sick.

It sounds like your cat is having some issues which could be related to the Vietnamese food you fed it last night or cats can get something call triaditis which is inflammation of the pancreas, liver, and small intestine and gallbladder. Because of the frequency of vomiting and the likelihood that its blood that you're seeing in the vomit I recommend your cat see a veterinarian as soon as possible.

It's no bother at all, it's what we are here for :-) I'm sorry that Aan is so sick. He could have eating something rotten, he could have gotten into something toxic, or he could have a foreign body. There can be lots of causes for sudden onset nausea in cats, including bacterial or viral infection, intestinal parasites, food intolerance, GI obstruction, pancreatitis, etc. I would recommend having Tyga examined by a vet to determine what caused the vomiting to get started. A simple anti-nausea shot may be all that is needed, but the vet may be more concerned depending on the physical examination.
