My cat's urine is super yellow. Is this a sign of a health problem?

These signs might be compatible with a urinary tract infection/inflammation. Stress related (idiopathic type of inflammation) infection and presence of crystals are the most common causes of it. These signs must be checked as soon as possible as urinary tract infection can be dangerous in male (especially neutered) cats as it can develop into a urinary tract obstruction/blockage. I recommend that you check and make sure that she is drinking enough water. Sometimes using several water bowls throughout the house is helpful. Another way to stimulate her to eat canned food which is high in water content. Good luck!

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I agree, that is some very dark urine which indicates he must not be drinking enough. You need to increase his water intake. The best way to do that is to add some chicken or beef broth to his food; use the low sodium kind. The added salt (even in the low sodium variety) should encourage him to drink more. If this dark urine continues for more than a few days you should take him to your vet for an exam and urine test.

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. That urine looks very very concentrated, which is suggestive that Marshall is dehydrated. This coincides with him not drinking. I would recommend getting him to a vet if you can, otherwise try to increase his water intake. Try getting him canned food, and adding water to the food, or providing him with fresh water, or running water (some cats like this). It does sound Fala has been through a lot in his short life already! If he urinated outside the litter box, that can be a sign of a medical problem such as a UTI or bladder stones. It is concerning that he isn't eating much, and today isn't drinking water normally. Both of those things can also signify an illness. I would have him seen by a vet tomorrow for a physical exam, blood tests, and a urinalysis. Using these tests, the vet can diagnose if there is a medical illness causing his symptoms so he can be treated. I hope this helps you and Fala feels better soon!
