Are cat toys safe for my mouse to chew? What toys are best for mice?

There are plastic toys that are long/string like that may be a little more robust for Chevy to play with. Laser pointers may also simulate something on a string that he can safely chase. If he does like things with string on them, I would just make sure to monitor him while playing to ensure he doesn't eat any string and so you can discard the toy if he chews a piece off.

Wooden toys are good for chewing but can be unappetizing to rats. You can try making your own by purchasing untreated pine blocks, and panting/soaking for a few hours in a beef broth, to make appealing. Good luck.

Jasper sounds like quite a character! I do recommend obviously to be VERY careful regarding chewing electrical cords. Many pets lose their lives each year due to chewing cords that are plugged in! Make sure to always replace tubes/keep them covered/keep them in areas that Jasper cannot access. You may even have a Jasper-proof room where he gets shut in any time you are not home to watch him. This is certainly a good safety measure. There are many toys options out there and I think KONG has a few that are aimed at cats who like to chew. Some even have tasty little treats that you can put in them, some have cat nip in them and I think he would have a lot of fun. It is important for you to remove any strings or movable pieces off the toys before you give it to him so that he doesn't swallow them. Also check the toys regularly for any pieces breaking off that he could swallow as this is a risk for intestinal blockage. Hi there! Sammy sounds like such a fun and frisky kitty cat. I am not really sure why cats like things like paper or scotch tape so much, but assume it's because of the crinkly sounds that they make when they play with those types of objects. As with all foreign material though, cats really shouldn't be actually ingesting the tape or paper. They could definitely cause some stomach upset. Even pieces of toys, if swallowed, can get caught on the way through the gastrointestinal tract and cause lots of serious problems. I have even seen a cat have several ponytail hair-ties removed from its tummy after swallowing them! It sounds like you two play together a lot, which is great, so if Sammy has a tendency to chew his toys and other things into pieces and potentially eat them, I would keep everything out of reach unless you are home and can supervise. A toilet paper roll (without the toilet paper on it) is a fine toy for a chinchilla. Unless your chinchilla for some reason decided to eat it all in one sitting, it shouldn't be an issue. When I worked as a zookeeper we used to put treats inside a toilet paper roll and put hay or paper towels in each end so they had to work to find their treat!

They can chew on cardboard as long as they don't ingested large quantities. Offer rabbit safe wooden chew toys as well. Their teeth are constantly growing, so they need to chew to keep them at an appropriate length.
