My dog has been throwing up for over 24 hours. What should I do?

Just like humans, pets can vomit for many reasons including parvo, eating something she shouldn't have, parasites, toxins or an intestinal blockage (which can be fatal). because some of these reasons can be very serious and because it has been going on tor 2 days, I recommend to have Kenzie examined first thing tomorrow morning. She needs treatment to fix what ever is causing the vomiting and at this point, she may have some dehydration or electrolyte imbalance issues. Any pet vomiting beyond 48 hours needs to be examined. It could be Chloe has a severe stomach illness, may have eaten something rotten,could have a foreign body, or pancreatitis. It's very concerning that she has been vomiting and not eating for the past 24 hours. I'd have her seen by a vet now to have this diagnosed and treated. I hope this helps!

It sounds as Calliope is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

No, this will not help Cinnamon stop vomiting. Vomiting in dogs can be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. A vet can give her a shot that will help stop the vomiting, and can diagnose what is causing her to vomit. If Cinnamon has been vomiting for less than 24 hours and not been vomiting multiple times per hour, then you can try a home remedy to see if that helps with the vomiting before taking her into the vet; otherwise, I would take her into the vet immediately should she be vomiting for more than 24 hours, and/or multiple times per hour. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

4 days is very long for a dog to have vomiting and diarrhea. I recommend that Alexa see a vet as soon as possible. Potential causes for her illness include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Your vet may recommend abdominal x-rays, bloodwork, or an intestinal parasite screen to help diagnose her ailment and create an appropriate treatment plan.

If Shieyah is vomiting and not stopping I would recommend a veterinarian. They can provide a medication to stop the vomiting and make sure it is nothing to be concerned about, like pancreatitis or even a foreign body. If she vomited once. I would withhold food for about 6 hours and rec small multiple meals of boiled chicken and white rice or a prescription bland diet. If she gets worse after this then she needs to see a veterinarian.
