There are lots of things that could cause vomiting and diarrhea in a dog, including dietary intolerance or indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Poor Sven sounds pretty sick. I'm concerned he's had diarrhea for two days, and is now vomiting. Anytime a dog has diarrhea for more than 24 hours, it's time to see the vet. In addition, because he's showing other signs such as vomiting, that makes it more important that he sees a vet. This can be an indication of whatever is causing his symptoms is getting worse. Combined vomiting and diarrhea can lead to severe dehydration so you should monitor very closely for weakness which would indicate the need for an emergency vet visit. Rice and water does not provide enough nutrition to promote bowel healing - I recommend a specialist intestinal canned diet or boiled chicken/fish/eggs added to the rice.
