My cat was stung, now vomiting & limping. Is it an allergic reaction?

She have have been [stung by a bee](https://www.petcoach.co/article/what-to-do-if-your-pet-is-stung-by-a-bee) or suffered some other type of insect bite or sting - this can sometimes cause allergic reactions that may include [vomiting](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/vomiting-1/). Or, the [limping](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/lameness-1/) and vomiting may be unrelated problems. If she has vomited more than 7 times in the last half hour, this is a sign that something is very wrong - I would recommend having her examined by a vet immediately to diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I do think that she should see a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. She may be having an allergic reaction to the sting. Also, this appears to be causing her pain which may be why she is not eating. It is hard to know without an examination but this is certainly concerning. They would be able to examine her and determine what would be best to treat her with. Good luck and have a good night!

On no, poor Nymeria. Some dogs are allergic to bees, and a sign of an allergic reaction is vomiting. I would be concerned since she has vomited five times in two hours, and I think seeing a vet is best for her now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It sounds like Gigi is very sick. I would be worried that another cat or animal has attacked her and done serious damage. She could have damage to an internal organs and/or she may have been bitten and it turned into an abscess which could lead to septicemia. Vomiting the yellow liquid is a bad sign that her system is involved. You need to take her to a vet asap to appropriately assess the damage and get adequate medication on board.

I am sorry to hear Madison is not feeling well. Insect stings can cause anaphylaxis just like in people. It is a good sign the facial swelling is going down and you can administer an over the counter antihistamine. However, if the vomiting does not stop I would recommend taking her to a vet for medications to stop the vomiting. I would be concerned that she might become dehydrated. Also, you can feed a bland diet to help her rest her stomach.

Poor Charlie! Monitor her for signs of an allergic reaction, such as facial swelling, redness, itching, other abnormal behaviors, etc. If you notice any of these signs she should be seen by a veterinarian for treatment with an injectable anti-histamine. If she continues to act like her normal self, probably nothing to worry about. It is possible that she may have some gastrointestinal upset. Also, I would not be wrong to have the vet give her an anti-histimine just to be on the safe side. I hope Charlie doesn't experience any signs and doesn't eat any more bees!

An injection near the stomach is odd...I've never seen this type of injection given there. If you didn't see the injection being given there, then it may be something else like another bee sting that is swelling. The antihistamine will usually make them drowsy, so this may explain the change in walking and behavior. The pain medication may also have a similar effect depending on what was given. However, what you are describing is a bit worrying and it would be best to take Ammu back to the vet and just make sure that everything is OK.
