My recently spayed cat's nipples are swollen and she's lactating?

It's not likely to be due to false pregnancy, it looks more like it was due to trauma, if i had to guess this is probably because of the clamps used during the surgery to hold the drape to the skin, it;s actually quite common and nothing to worry about.

Hello. If Lulu just weaned her kittens shortly before having her spay surgery, then most likely this is just the tissues in the intermediary phase before they begin to shrink down. If Lulu will allow you to place a warm compress on the nipples, this will assist in the blood flow necessary to help bring the swelling down. It can happen after the cat is spayed if they ovulated and were recently in heat before the surgery. It is secondary to hormonal influence. It should resolve on it's own. I hope this helps!

Yes, this could be due to a false pregnancy. Storm should not still be feeding the seven month old kitten, that is way too old. You need to separate her completely from the kittens (as long as all are at least two months of age) so her milk can dry up. I'd take her into the vet to confirm she has a false pregnancy and to make a date to spay her. I hope this helps.

I strongly recommend you keep the two cats separated for at least 3-4weeks or place a coat on Tappi which will cover the area in order to prevent nursing and break this cycle of behavior. Constant nursong will lead to inflammation and possible infection of the glands and is a vicious cycle of stimulation and irritation

Yuki's nipples and mammary glands look like those of a pregnant cat. I see that she has not been spayed, so if she got out of the house or has been around ANY intact male cats, I think it's most likely that she's pregnant. If there is absolutely no chance that she's been around any intact male cats, then there is a chance that her body is going through a pseudopregnancy. These false pregnancies can occur due to hormonal imbalances after being in heat and usually last a little over a month. It would be best to have Yuki examined by her vet to determine if she is or is not actually pregnant in order to help you plan for her care. I hope that everything goes well!

My guess is that it is just hormone related hyperplasia. The other option is mastitis - it may be just starting. I would just keep an eye on it since she is acting otherwise normal.
