Why are my cat's nipples swollen and stomach wide? Is she pregnant?

My cat is a stray cat we took in 3-4 months ago and her nipples looks swollen and light pink and there is no hair around it, it keeps on getting bigger (It wasn't this dry and flat before it was more pinkish and not flat) and her stomach is wide from the sides. I don’t think she’s pregnant as she's been this way from the moment we took her in I could see the nipples and her stomach width from the sides only now it is larger.

Yuki's nipples and mammary glands look like those of a pregnant cat. I see that she has not been spayed, so if she got out of the house or has been around ANY intact male cats, I think it's most likely that she's pregnant. If there is absolutely no chance that she's been around any intact male cats, then there is a chance that her body is going through a pseudopregnancy. These false pregnancies can occur due to hormonal imbalances after being in heat and usually last a little over a month. It would be best to have Yuki examined by her vet to determine if she is or is not actually pregnant in order to help you plan for her care. I hope that everything goes well!

I think she might be in heat. I would try to keep her inside as it doesn't take cats very long to get the deed done! Cats are pregnant for 60 days, so if her belly and mammary glands continue to get larger then she is likely pregnant and you'd have kittens 4-6 weeks from now. Good luck!

It sounds as though Knox is exhibiting signs of a false pregnancy. Since she was spayed last month, it is not possible for her to actually become pregnant. Rarely, a portion of ovarian tissue (referred to as ovarian remnant syndrome) can remain after a spay, which then produces hormones and can cause signs of heat and possible pregnancy. I do recommend taking Knox to her vet for an exam and to consider blood hormone levels to determine if ovarian remnant syndrome is suspected. My cat's belly is swollen. Is it a false pregnancy from nursing?

Yes, this could be due to a false pregnancy. Storm should not still be feeding the seven month old kitten, that is way too old. You need to separate her completely from the kittens (as long as all are at least two months of age) so her milk can dry up. I'd take her into the vet to confirm she has a false pregnancy and to make a date to spay her. I hope this helps.
