My cat has skin redness and a bald spot after vaccination. Is it normal?

If this hair loss is in the area where the vaccine was given (sorry, I can't tell from the pictures exactly where it is) it could be a reaction to the vaccination. I'd recommend placing a call to the vet and describing the location of the hair loss; this may be an aberrant response to the vaccine that needs to be reported to the manufacturer.

Poor Beans (cutest name BTW)! If this is where she received her vaccine, she could be having a local reaction to the vaccine. It could also be an infection under the skin or a bacterial or fungal infection on the skin. You could try giving her beandryl twice a day to see if it improves. See link below. Hi, sorry to hear Keanu is having problem. This very well could be a type of vaccine reaction. I would monitor the site to see if it gets better or if a lump appears. If a lump appears, he should be taken back to the vet as this is serious. It could be an infection also, which may resolve on it's own or may need antibiotics. I hope he gets better!

It does not look like post-injection reaction. I would rather suspect an insect bite, reaction to a tick, cat bite (if Ori goes out at all) or self-inflicted small wound from scratching the area. Please, keep an eye on it, small skin wounds often heal rapidly without treatment. If there is any discharge from the wound you can use 4% chlorhexidine skin solution to clean it. If it gets bigger or starts bothering Ori, take her to your local vets for a check.

Hi there. It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the skin looks pretty normal. Has she recently had any injections in that are? Vaccines, or pain medication really any injection in a cat can cause inflammation and hair loss. If the area is red, has a scab, or continues to spread then she should probably have an examination by a veterinarian. Hopefully the hair grows back soon!

It sounds like Coco is having a local vaccine reaction. You should contact your vet and see if they want to examine him or if they would be able to prescribe medications, and if they agree it’s a vaccine reaction they might recommend medication prior to vaccines in the future. I doubt it’s related to the trouble giving the vaccine - it’s pretty common for the needle to slip out when giving injections to wiggly dogs and cats.

Yes that could be due to a injection site reaction most likely. This type of skin reaction is usually self limiting and fur most of the times grows back. If not resolving in a weeks time or if getting swollen/inflamed/red/painful a vet check up is needed as abscess can sometimes build up and needs to be treated appropriately (lanced, flushed, disinfected).
