Is my cat sick or pregnant? She's making weird noises and protective.

She is likely crying due to hormonal imbalance. She may be in heat again. She may be pregnant, I don't know as I haven't examined her. I suggest you get to a vet and if she is not pregnant she needs to be spayed ASAP. She sounds like she is very sensitive to hormones and that is not going to stop without spaying. Cats do not show that they "miss" their babies or their other families by crying out loud. That is not normal.

When cats are hunting something such as a bug, they may chatter. However if your cat's belly is distended or you think she may be pregnant or ill, it is best to seek out veterinary care. Your vet can determine if there is a pregnancy and check for other causes of distended bellies such as internal parasites which require treatment.

The symptoms you described are common in cats in heat. But that isn't possible if she is currently pregnant. Discharge can occur before going into labor, but if it is greenish, she needs to see a vet ASAP. It's also possible she has an infection in her uterus or a false pregnancy. Only and ultrasound or x-rays with a vet will be able to tell which situation is going on.

Hello, it is difficult to determine if Medenka is pregnant or if she has an additional disease. She could be pregnant based on those signs, however, cats usually do not get very big until they are towards the end of their pregnancy. I would recommend that you continue to monitor her as long as she is eating and drinking ok. If you note that she stops eating, drinking, develops any vomiting, or soft stools then she may have something else and would benefit from being evaluated by a veterinarian. If your local veterinarian does not treat cats, he may know some other veterinarian who does and would ask for his recommendation to someone else.
