Why does my cat have a small red pimple-like bump near his eye?

That is an odd bump on Moteur. I think a warm compress twice daily is a good idea. It may be something like a minor infection or perhaps a fluid filled cyst. Make sure to protect it from Moteur scratching at it (make him wear an elizabethan collar if you need to). Given that its so close to his eye, I would be hesitant to try to apply any ointment as I fear he would move and end up getting something in the eye. If that lesion starts to swell, look inflamed, ruptures, or is still there in a month, then I think you should have him examined by his veterinarian. Although it does not look like it is connected to his actual eye, monitor that as well for redness, squinting or excessive tearing. I hope this helps and hopefully that goes away quickly! Lesions above the eyes can be the result of scratching due to itchy ears from an infection. Cats can be private and she may scratch while she is alone. I can't identify the lesion on Pirate but I can say that yes, cats do get things like pimples and little sebaceous cysts. These lesions will often express like a pimple would and are nothing to worry about unless they get inflamed or bother Pirate. Thank you so much for using Pet Coach!

It's possible that this lesion is a cyst, a benign or malignant mass, inflammation from localized skin issues (e.g. mange, ringworm, infection, etc.), or even something as simple as an insect bite. The only definitive way to determine the cause of this type of lesion is with some diagnostic testing. The good news is that it doesn't look significantly irritated now or the cause of any major concern. You can try using a warm compress over this lesion twice a day for a few days to see if it gets smaller or resolves altogether. However, if the lesion grows more, opens up with any discharge, or seems to cause Marty to be itchy, then it should be checked out by your vet. I hope that everything goes well!

That lesions looks pretty quiet. Perhaps Voli had an injury there or the hair regrowth cycle is off. If you are comfortable, you may monitor the area right now. If it gets larger or appears swollen, take him into the vet. Cats rarely get lacrimal duct infections but that lesion is in the area over the duct system. If its been present for longer than that or is worsening, I would be more concerned that it is the start of an infection or growth that would benefit from being seen by her veterinarian. That looks like an infection with how red it is and the fur lose. Allergies and skin mites would be other potential causes though less common. There may not be much you can do at home. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing her diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. Also protect the area from trauma by having your kitty wear an elizabethan collar at all times.
