My cat has a white bump over his eye. Can cats get pimples or cysts?

Lesions above the eyes can be the result of scratching due to itchy ears from an infection. Cats can be private and she may scratch while she is alone. This could be a pustule which is a local bacterial infection or even a small cyst. If it is just one it may go away on its own. But if there are multiple, this one becomes larger or seems painful your cat may need medication from your veterinarian.

That could be something like an infected pore or ingrown hair most likely. His tear duct is on the inside of his eye lid so you don't have to worry about that. Less common, that lesion could represent a wound or the beginning of a skin tumor. I recommend to monitor the area closely. Protect it from rubbing and Jeffrey should wear an elizabethan collar if he wants to rub at it. If the lesion is still present in 2 weeks, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps.

Please understand that it's impossible to say what this lesion is with 100% certainty without examining cells from this lesion microscopically. With that said, Tigra's lesion looks as though it could be a cyst. Most cysts are benign lesions. Many rupture and some refill at a later date, but they won't go away completely on their own. It would be best to have Tigra examined by her vet within the next month or so, or sooner if it's changing dramatically or bothering her. Until her appointment, keep a close eye on it for changes, but don't worry about applying any topical medications.

Cats more commonly get infected hair follicles or glands on their chin that we call Feline Acne rather than cysts. Yes, you can apply a warm compress to the area, but I would not recommend alcohol. We sometimes need to use a topical medication or even systemic antibiotics to resolve Feline Acne, so I would have your veterinarian examine Ema if the bump does not resolve with a warm compress. It is possible that Proust is having an allergic reaction or allergy causing the little pimples. The 3 types of allergies in young cats are food, environtment or flea. I recommend applying flea prevention every 30 days. You can try to use glass feeding dishes that you clean often and avoid cat food with fish or beef in it. If Proust will let you, you can try to give him a medicated bath too. However if this is not improving I recommend taking him to the vet for a good exam. It is possible the pimples are infection and need antibiotics to resolve

Hello there, Thanks for the good photo. If it is a small minor wound like a pimple or scratch, it should be mostly healed within a week of forming. If its been present for longer than that or is worsening, I would be more concerned that it is the start of an infection or growth that would benefit from being seen by her veterinarian.
