My cat is peeing on soft surfaces. Is it safe to wait for the vet?

I think that if he urinates 2 more times or more, that means that he is urinating more frequently which would warrant an evaluation by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Urinary signs like this can be observed with something like a urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, among other possibilities. If he is still able to pass urine and does not seem in discomfort, you could probably wait until Monday. Poor Tigger! Vets are seeing pets during this time for illnesses, and the answer to your question depends on his symptoms. If he appears otherwise healthy and happy, eats and drinks plenty, you can wait until Monday morning to have him seen by a vet. If he appears lethargic, ill or distressed, or if the urine appears very bloody, then he should be seen by a vet ASAP. Feed him wet/canned food, add water to it, and make sure he drinks a lot of water to help flush the bladder. I hope this helps!

It's fine to wait for your morning apointment, fortunately in female cats this condition is usually less urgent than in males, it still needs to be addressed within 24 hours but it can definitely wait for the morning.

While there is nothing I'd recommend doing at home I do think it might be best to see your vet sooner - I'm wondering if a drop off appointment might be an option. If not you may even want to consider seeing an emergency veterinarian. While it is unlikely that a female cat will develop a urethral obstruction a week is a long time for her to be uncomfortable from a urinary tract infection or inflammation.

In general if Charlotte's symptoms are on the mild side and she is continuing to eat/drink normally and maintains a good attitude I believe this can wait until Monday. That's a good question. If she continues to eat and drink with no signs of vomiting, acting lethargic or very tired, then you can likely wait until Monday. If you see signs of blood in the stool or she starts straining defecate without passing any stool, then I would take her to an emergency veterinarian.

Poor guy. He likely has a urinary tract infection or cystitis (inflamed bladder usually due to stress). I would recommend taking him to your vet for a urine test to determine which is present so that he is treated appropriately. As long as he is otherwise acting normal and able to urinate at will, then it isn't considered an emergency at this point. Getting him seen on Monday or the day after should be ok.
