My male cat has started weeing blood and going to the toilet more often . He seems okay in himself still eating and drinking .

I recommend calling your veterinarian in the morning and having them see Basil. This is concerning that Basil keeps going in and out of the litter box. The concern is that he is having trouble urinating. As long as he is urinating then it is ok to wait until the morning. If he cannot urinate and has not today then I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian now.
Your veterinarian can perform a urinalysis to rule out a urinary tract infection. If there is blood in the urine they may perform X-rays to look for bladder stones.
