Kitten UTI symptoms, jelly blobs. Do I need an emergency vet now?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2.1 lbs

Good Evening/Morning! My 6 month kitten is showing symptoms of a UTI, i.e. urinating on soft things, as well as frequent trips to the litter box with little urine output. Behavior wise, she is eating, drinking, and playing like normal. We have an appointment with our vet in the a.m., however we are worried that we need to take her to an emergency vet. This is because a few times that she has left the litter box, there have been jelly-like blobs left behind.

It's fine to wait for your morning apointment, fortunately in female cats this condition is usually less urgent than in males, it still needs to be addressed within 24 hours but it can definitely wait for the morning.
