Cat peeing frequently, small amounts. Can I wait until Monday?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 6 years and 6 months old | 16.3 lbs

My cat has pee 3 times today usually he pees 2 times a day maybe 3 I ask the question 20 minutes ago the answer was he still able to pee I wouldn't be concern but if he continues to me more frequently to call my vet so hes went 3 times so fall smaller volumes so if he goes again today or twice should I get him to a vet right away its Saturday my vet not open so can I wait until monday what u think that would mean he pee 4 to 5 times today that's unusual so what should I do

I think that if he urinates 2 more times or more, that means that he is urinating more frequently which would warrant an evaluation by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Urinary signs like this can be observed with something like a urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, among other possibilities. If he is still able to pass urine and does not seem in discomfort, you could probably wait until Monday. If he is unable to urinate or appears to be in discomfort, he should be evaluated by an emergency veterinarian before Monday. Good luck and have a great day! I hope he is just fine.

There is always a worry with male cats about a urethral blockage when they show this behavior. It's good you know to have him seen by a vet for this. If you see him trying to pee but nothing is coming out, he's yowling when trying to pee, his pee appears very bloody, he's lethargic, vomiting, refusing to eat, and/or he is licking his genitals a lot, you must take him into an ER vet right away. Otherwise, you can wait until tomorrow. Feed him wet food and add water to it to flush his bladder. I hope this helps!

My cat has a painful UTI with blood. How to help her until morning?

If it truly is just a urinary tract infection and she is not obstructed and otherwise doing well then it should not be an issue waiting until tomorrow morning. If she seems too uncomfortable or becomes obstructed, she may need to see a veterinarian before then like tonight to at least start medications for pain and antibiotics. Best of luck!

My dog is drinking and peeing a lot. Should I go to the emergency vet?
If Bo is only exhibiting an increase in water intake and urination then you should be okay to wait to schedule an appointment on Monday to see his regular veterinarian. This can sometimes be due to the high environmental temperatures this time of year, but you can certainly see this with urinary tract disease/infections or with metabolic disorders (less likely since Bo is less than 1 year old). In the meantime, monitor Bo for the onset of lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, inappetance or decrease in appetite, or any more severe signs (seizure, pale mucous membranes, etc). If any of these signs are noted, then he should be examined by an emergency veterinarian immediately.

As long as Jax doesn’t seem to be straining to urinate and there is no blood in his urine I think it is probably okay to wait until Sunday. If he is only passing small drops of urine, if he seems painful, or if he begins vomiting I’d recommend seeing your vet sooner.

Unfortunately, it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to prescribe any medication without seeing the animal in person first. That's because we don't know if the medication is safe for your cat's current medical status, or if it's the correct medication for their symptoms. If he is urinating frequently, I would suspect he has a UTI. I would take him into the vet to confirm he has a UTI, and the vet can prescribe antibiotics to treat it.
