Why is my cat peeing blood, constipated, vomiting, and not eating?

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 2.8 lbs

There is blood drops on the floor after my cat tries to pee! He is suffering from constipation for 2 days and vomited for several times! He doesn't have appetite as well

You really need to take Soley to your local vets today. Blood in urine is a sign of bladder infection, crystals or stones in the bladder or even urethral obstruction. Urethral obstruction, or partial obstruction is a medical emergency.

Oh dear! If Merlin is having trouble urinating and also vomiting and not eating, I would be very concerned that he may have a urinary obstruction - this is unfortunately a common problem in male cats, as their urethra is very narrow and can easily become blocked with crystals or mucus from the bladder.

If this is what's wrong with Merlin, this is a life-threatening emergency that needs immediate veterinary care, as the bladder can rupture and cause death in a matter of hours. I would recommend taking him to the vet right away for an exam. If he does have a urinary blockage, the vet will need to pass a catheter to relieve the obstruction, and Merlin will need to be hospitalized for IV fluids and other supportive care.

I’m sorry to hear Nigel isn’t feeling well. If he can’t urinate I would take him to a vet right now! Male cats can become blocked very easily and if not unblocked quickly, they can die. If he isn’t blocked it could be an infection and he needs medications to relieve the infection and pain. Good luck and kisses to Nigel!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Julie! Blood in the urine can indicate a urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine or bladder stones. She may not be eating because she is uncomfortable or has a fever. I recommend that Julie sees a Veterinarian. They may check her urine for infection or crystals. If she is older they may want to run blood work. They also may want to take an X-ray to check for a bladder stone. If it is a urinary tract infection she needs antibiotics. If it is crystals in the urine then we usually change the diet. If bladder stones, ideally surgery is recommended. I hope this helps and I wish Julie a speedy recovery!

My cat is peeing blood, crying, and won't eat. What should I do?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Given that Minx is a young male cat and having abnormal urinations and likely blood in his urine, I suspect that he may be suffering from Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), or inflammation in the lower urinary tract. This is causing him difficulty urinating, and painful urination. I recommend having him seen by a veterinarian right away, before he becomes fully "blocked", meaning unable to pass any urine at all. This is a life-threatening emergency, and requires rapid veterinary attention. Your veterinarian will perform a physical exam and likely recommend bloodwork to evaluate the severity of his urinary tract disease. FIC is a treatable condition, but again, if he becomes unable to pass any urine at all, he can experience acute kidney failure and develop fatal heart rhythms. I hope this is helpful!

Found a cat not eating, bleeding, and peeing often. Is she sick?

Poor kitty! I totally understand your concerns here, as I too am deeply concerned about this cats current condition. These symptoms suggest this cat may have a severe urinary tract infection or even a bleeding abnormality, if you are seeing blood coming from the vaginal area. A uterine infection (pyometra) is also possible here which can be life threatening if not treated medically. This cat needs to be taken to a vet hospital right away for treatment, because this is beyond what you can do for this kitty at home. They need to run some diagnostics on this cat, which will likely be bloodwork +/- abdominal radiographs and likely a urine test if a bladder infection is suspected after a complete physical exam is done. Please take kitty in to your local vet right away for further care before her condition gets any worse. If you can't get her in right away then offer kitty some low sodium chicken or beef broth and small amounts of non-flavored Pedialyte diluted with water using a syringe or small turkey baster. I hope your kitty gets better soon!

Why is my cat vomiting, not eating, straining, and has bloody poop?

This is a medical emergency, and Lucky needs to see a vet immediately. He could be suffering from a foreign body, GI polyps, or GI tumors causing him to vomiting, not be able to poop, and not eat or drink. He needs veterinary treatment now. I would see if there is an ER vet clinic in your area. If there isn't, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Please take him into a vet immediately.

It is usually related to bacterial infection of the bladder but it may be due to bladder crystals or stress. Why is my cat peeing blood and struggling in the litter box?

It could be Snow is suffering from feline idiopathic cystitis or bladder stones. She will need to see a vet for this problem. If she appears otherwise healthy and happy, eats and drinks plenty, you can wait until Monday morning. If she appears lethargic, ill or distressed, or if the urine appears very bloody, then she should be seen by a vet ASAP. Feed her wet/canned food, add water to it, and make sure she drinks a lot of water to help flush the bladder. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
