My cat has UTI, not eating, vomiting, peeing outside box. Emergency?

Hi, it does sound like Chibi is having troubles passing urine. In terms of what you need to do, he needs to be seen by a vet his condition is classed as an emergency. The fact he can't urinate properly but just droplets and that he has retched and refused to eat, can indicate that the inability of pass urine is causing all the waste products to be reabsorbed in his blood. As time goes by he will progressively get worse, so I recommend you try to get hold of your vet explaining you think it is an emergency and 24 hours is too long to wait. Apart from offering water, he needs to have some treatment for urethral obstruction, there is nothing you can do at home apart from keeping him indoors, try to avoid unnecessary stress, make sure he is in a cool room.. and most importantly try to find a vet. Hope all goes well, please let us now if there is anything else that we can do. If you have any antinflammatories, stop them for the time being as we think he might not be able to urinate and can make his kidneys worse as well as causing Gastro-intestinal issues.

Have Moose examined tonight by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER. A cat that is not urinating or is unable to urinate should be considered a veterinary emergency. An exam and testing may diagnose another urinary tract infection or a urinary obstruction. Blood work can be submitted to assess major organ function, especially kidney function. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

Hello, sorry to hear about Arki. This could be the case and it may take him a day or so to resume his appetite. However, if Arki is not able to urinate, has gone greater than 4-6 hours with urinating, is making frequent visits to the litter box and is unable to produce urine, or is sitting in the litter box and vocalizing then he should be evaluated immediately as these are signs he may be obstructed and would require emergency veterinary attention. If he is obstructed, then Arki is unlikely to want to eat anything as this is painful condition. If he is urinating, then as his UTI begins to clear, he will likely resume his normal appetite. If she isn't eating and is lethargic then yes I would recommend to take her earlier. Also make sure she is urinating everyday so that you know she isn't blocked and unable to urinate. I hope she starts to feel better soon!

This is very concerning, and Señora Cheeto could have feline idiopathic cystitis or bladder stones. She has to see a vet now for this, that is the only option. Vets will see pets for emergencies during this time, and this counts. Please take her into a vet immediately.

Male cats can develop a urinary obstruction, which is an emergency condition that needs to be evaluated right away, as it can be fatal. Otherwise, cats can develop bladder crystals, a urinary tract infection, or cystitis (an inflammation of the bladder). If there is a chance Vito has a urinary obstruction, I would have him seen immediately. Good luck!

Poor Tickle! If she is unable to pee, this is a medical emergency. It could be she is suffering from a urinary tract obstruction. Typically this occurs most often in male cats, but it can happen in female cats and signs include an inability to pee, severe pain (which she showed by panting), and vomiting. She needs veterinary care, as if she does have a urinary blockage, it is fatal without treatment. Please take her into a vet immediately.
