My cat usually eats all her wet food but didn't today. Should I worry?

If she is generally fussy, I wouldn't be too concerned that she has stopped eating her wet food as long as she's eating her dry cat food. It's very important that she eats, and it may be that if you've given her a different flavor of Whiskas, she simply doesn't like it and doesn't want to eat it. If she does stop eating food altogether, then I would be worried and I would have her seen by a vet.

Hello, its difficult to pinpoint that Opal could have something abnormal going on with her. Her appetite is likely normal but she is eating her food at different times depending on her level of activity. Especially if the food is always readily available to her. Opal likely prefers to eat her food when she becomes hungry after playing around and not at all times. As long as she is not having any other signs, then she is likely not sick. If her appetite continues to decrease then you may try to change to see if she prefers a different flavor of food. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Hello, sorry to hear about Lily. You may try a different brand of wet kitten food. You can also mix it with dry kitten food. Depending on how often you are feeding her she may also not be hungry. Kittens may have a fluctuating appetite that may be associated with growing and how active they are. As long as she is eating some food, and not having any vomiting, diarrhea or lethargy then she should be ok. If you note any of the above then have her evaluated soon.

What you are describing does not sound normal. Certainly adult cats will eat a little less than kittens if they are less active, but it sounds like Mischa's appetite has decreased pretty dramatically. You can certainly try changing brands or flavors of food in case there is something she does not like about her food. I also do not recommend mixing the canned and dry food because if they do not eat it all at once, moistening the dry food can cause bacterial growth. So, if you feed both types of food, just put them in seperate bowls. If you try a different food and Mischa still does not eat well, I would recommend having your vet examine her and possibily run some bloodwork to makes sure that everything is normal. Good luck! I wouldn't worry about your pet preferring dry over wet food. This sounds like her preferences have simply changed. If Zelda is still eating a normal amount of her usual food this may simply be a change in preference - just like people cats sometimes decide they don't like a food as much as they once did. It's also possible that she isn't eating as much as she gets a bit older and is not growing as rapidly. If she seems to be eating a lot less overall or losing weight this could be a sign of an underlying illness and you should have her examined by your vet.

Yes, I would be worried too. At home you need to make sure that she is drinking water, even if you need to give it to her with an eye dropper. I would recommend to offer her tasty meals-canned food, tuna, chicken and rice. Warmed food is better than cold food so this may also encourage her to eat. Many things could be going on and some causes can be severe. If she begins to have vomiting/diarrhea, stops eating completely or becomes lethargic, get her into the vet sooner.
