My cat's neck cracked and popped. Is this normal or concerning?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My cats neck cracked and I heard a tiny pop. This is the first time this happened. Is it okay for this to happen?

Yes, this can happen like it does in humans sometimes. As long as your cat is able to move his neck correctly, is behaving normally, doesn't appear to be in pain, and is eating and drinking normally, it's not something to cause concern. If it does continue to happen, however, then I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.
