My cat took too much Meropitant but seems fine. ER vet needed?

According to the veterinary medicine resource this drug has been tolerated at doses up to 90 mg/kg with mild symptoms (anorexia and excessive drinking) in some cats. Callie would have to have eaten 450 mg of Famciclovir to see these symptoms, so she is well below this amount if she ingested 2-125mg tablets totaling 250mg. She should be fine, however you can also consult with pet poison helpline to talk it over with a certified toxicologist as well. But based on my minimal research she is below the toxic level for ingestion. I hope your sweet girl continues to do well. Take care.

I would not be overly concerned, although the recommended dose is 5-10mg/lb (and an 8lb cat would have consumed approx 15mg/lb) it does have a wide safety margin and overdose symptoms are very rare. I would expect some mild gastrointestinal upset and a probiotic would be helpful to reduce the impact on the natural gut balance

If Louis vomits at some point, it should be a one-time occurrence, but the omeprazole works as a stomach protectant in cats, just like in people, so he will be just fine. Mirtazapine does have a side effect of drowsiness or sedation in pets. It is commonly used in cats as an appetite stimulant. 30mg would be 4 times higher than I normally use, and this overdosage can cause: 57% vocalizing, 38% agitated, 23% vomiting, 21% tachycardic, 15% ataxic and 11% lethargic. The symptoms can last a little longer than 72 hours. As long as Dolly is still eating and drinking normally, I would continue to watch her. If the she is still not completely normal in a day or two, she may need a checkup with a vet.

That should not cause any damage or severe toxic effect. I would just monitor him at this stage but I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. It doesn’t say what the medication was. Luckily Rio didn’t eat much of it. I certainly would monitor him closely for the next twelve hours and if you are seeing any behavioral changes, vomiting or diarrhea then please take him right in for treatment. Fortunately, this is pretty safe, so while it's recommended to give those treats in moderation, I wouldn't be overly worried if Bug is acting normal. I recommend stopping the treats for a few days while Bug metabolizes what he's gotten, and then giving the treats according to the package guidelines going forward. Of course, if you are worried (or if Bug seems excessively sleepy or wobbly on his feet) then I recommend reaching out to your regular vet. But my suspicion is he'll do just fine! Hope this helps!
