Why does my cat meow repeatedly with a scrunchie? Is it normal?

Ive never heard my cat meow until a few days ago. She was meowing while i was in the living room and when i went to see her she had my scrunchie next to her. I didnt think about it and didnt care. But she kept meowing a few hours later and she had the same scrunchie next to her. And i kept putting it back. She did this multiple times last night and today. Its always the scrunchie next to her.

Hello. I have a male cat that does this periodically with a small toy. It is a peculiar meow & when I hear it he always has this small toy in his mouth. In his case, this is probably the call to inform all around him that he is bringing home dinner. I always tell him how proud I am with him. I have also observed an outside cat that has caught a small prey animal do the same thing. With Sarah, it is probably something similar in that she is "announcing" that she has caught the scrunchie. This may also be a maternal behavior. Regardless, it is very normal for a cat to vocalize with a toy or soft object. Just make sure the scrunchie is unable to be swallowed by your cat. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would take the toy away. He could have strained his voice from meowing. If that’s the case his voice should return. Why is my 3-year-old cat making quick meows with head movements?

If your cat is otherwise acting normal and eating fine I wouldn’t worry too much about this. Keep an eye on your cat and watch for drooling any swelling or soreness in the mouth or any reluctance to eat. If you notice any of the signs then you may want to have her checked out. Yes, this can be normal. Some kittens are simply more vocal than others. I would be concerned if he was only doing it when he was in the litter box, as that can be a sign of a medical problem, but if he's doing all the time, he likely wants love and attention :-)

Is it normal for my kitten to chirp after hearing a dog bark?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Red Baron sounds so cute and funny! Cats have a wide variety of sounds in their repertoire and believe it or not, a “chirping” sound is quite common! My own cat does not do this but I’ve had many clients who tell me their cat is “chatty” and mostly talks in chirps! I’ve witnessed it many times. I suspect Red Baron is just responding in kitten fashion when his housemates are chatting. Unless you think there is a voice change (wherein all vocalizations sound different), I have no concerns about Red Baron’s little chirping episodes. Hope this helps!

My cat meows constantly and drools a lot. Is this normal cat behavior?

Some cats are very vocal and that’s how they interact. I’ve also seen deaf cats that meow excessively since they can’t hear themselves. Drooling usually occurs when cats are purring and happy.
