My ginger cat has a freckle-like bump on his lip. Should I worry?

It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne). If it does not resolve on its own, I would recommend having Mouse examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Hello. I would just watch this for now. I have removed several of these off of older cats, & they are most often benign & not dangerous. Removal is always curative. If it looks like it is enlarging, or it is interfering with his ability to eat or chew, definitely consider having it removed. Otherwise, just monitor for now. Hello. Cats can develop pigmentary spots similar to freckles in people. The spot do show up more often on the lips & the pink skin around the eyes. If you could post a very clear picture, I might be able to be a little more accurate, otherwise, just point the spot out to your vet at Tiffany's next visit. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If it is pendulous and mass like I would have him seen. If it is flat like a freckle then it could be a normal pigmentation. Orange cats do develop black freckles in their mouthes. Good luck!

Hello there, Thanks for the good photo. If it is a small minor wound like a pimple or scratch, it should be mostly healed within a week of forming. If its been present for longer than that or is worsening, I would be more concerned that it is the start of an infection or growth that would benefit from being seen by her veterinarian. Thank you for attaching a picture of Leo's bump! It could be from an injury, such as him scratching his chin and accidentally cutting himself. I would keep an eye on it for now. If it doesn't go away in the next few days, gets bigger, there is pus from the area, and/or it starts to bother him, take him into the vet. Best of luck.
