My cat has a pink bump on her lip. Is it serious? When to see a vet?

  Hello, & thank you or using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Unfortunately your picture did not come through, but I would not be too concerned if the bump just showed up. It may be a reaction to a bite if your cat hunts, or it might be an allergic reaction to something. In a young cat, it is very unlikely to be very serious or contagious. If your cat is eating well & does not seem too bothered by it, then give it a couple of days to see if it goes down. Of course, if you are at all concerned, see your vet at your earliest convenience.   I would continue to monitor closely over the next 3-4weeks (take weekly pictures to compare); it looks quite benign and is unlikely to be anything sinister in such a young kitten but any redness, increase in size or discomfort should be checked by your vet as soon as possible

  I think I see what you are referring to, it is very small like 2mm pink skin growth on the right side by his whiskers? It's hard to say it likely is a skin tag or a sebaceous adenoma. I always recommend any new growth be evaluated by your Vet. You can also monitor it for growth. If it grows then you can discuss removing it.
