My cat has a new brown spot on her lip. Should I be worried?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 years and 11 months old | 10 lbs

my cat has a discolored lip (brown) that seems to have just appeared recently. the cat is 6yrs old

Hello. Cats can develop pigmentary spots similar to freckles in people. The spot do show up more often on the lips & the pink skin around the eyes. If you could post a very clear picture, I might be able to be a little more accurate, otherwise, just point the spot out to your vet at Tiffany's next visit.     It is difficult to see it in the picture as it is a bit blurry, but it looks like just a little pigmentation. As animals age, they will get more freckles or hyperpigmentations. As long as it is flat and not bothering her, I would just watch it. If it starts to change or getting larger, I would have your vet take a look at it. I hope this helps!
