Why is my cat in heat again so soon after her last cycle? Is it normal?

If cat doesn't mate how may times she's going into heat? Because my cat one month before she was in heat now she's acting like she's going into heat is that normal?

Yes this can be normal. If she doesn't mate while in heat, then she may go out of heat for and come back into heat 1-2 weeks later. She may continue to come back into heat every couple of weeks during the breeding season (January-September) until she is bred.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While dogs have heat cycles 1-2 times a year, cats typically have heat cycles more frequently, even up to every 3 weeks. It is possible that she isn't showing signs typical of a heat cycle, but cats can develop an infection of the uterus, which can be quite serious. I would recommend she have a check-up with her regular veterinarian to have a physical and go from there. Good luck!

This is suspicious for a possible ovarian cyst that could be continuing to produce hormones. If this does t resolve on its own in a few days then I would recommend that she be evaluated by a veterinarian. If you don’t plan to breed her then a spay would likely solve the problem. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tigresa. Cats will go into heat multiple times throughout the breeding season. The cycles can vary in length, but generally last about one week. If she does not mate, her symptoms will resolve. She will likely go back into hear again soon though. Spaying her will alleviate these signs. I hope this information helps!

Typically cats first go into heat by around six months, but they have their first heat earlier than that. Cats can come into heat at five months usually at the earliest. Storm may have been small so they didn’t estimate her age correctly. Please keep her inside so she doesn’t get pregnant. Why is my cat in heat if she's already 20 days pregnant? Is she okay?

If you are sure your cat has been bred successfully and [a pregnancy](https://www.petcoach.co/article/pregnancy-diagnosis-caring-for-a-pregnant-cat/) is confirmed, it is a good idea to schedule an appointment with your veterinarian for care. While some discharge may be normal during pregnancy, bleeding or other discharge from the vaginal region that is discolored may indicate an infection or other complication to pregnancy which should be addressed by your vet. As cats are induced ovulators, it may also be that she was not bred successfully during her previous heat and come back into heat. Cats will continued to cycle in and out of heat while "in season" and so she may be ready to be bred again. However, it is still a good idea to schedule a veterinary appointment to make sure there are not any problems or health issues that are preventing a successful breeding. My cat in heat got out. Will she return and how long does heat last?

Is it normal for my dog to go into heat more than twice a year?

It is more common for them to only come into heat twice a year, but some do come into heat four times a year. As long as she is otherwise normal, I would not be concerned about any abnormalities causing this. If she is having lasting changes in behavior, or signs of illness, then I would be concerned and recommend a visit to the vet. My dog's period only lasted 10 days. Is a short heat normal?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Some dogs are in heat only for 10-12 days. It often happens with the first heat. As long as your Oggy is bright, alert and has good appetite there is nothing to worry about. However, if you notice that she is drinking more water, her appetite is poor and she has vaginal discharge, you should take her to your local vets for an appointment as these symptoms are consistent with uterine infection.
