My cat in heat got out. Will she return and how long does heat last?

6 days is a long time, although it's pretty impossible to predict how long she might be gone for. Usually when they're in heat they come and go, returning home to eat. Hopefully she has come back home by now, but if not I would put signs up in your neighborhood.
