Why is my cat howling, not eating, and sitting on its stomach in pain?

There could be a couple things that might be causing these symptoms in Ginger. You are correct that one of them could be a blockage, such as from a foreign body. That would make her feel very unwell, and not want to eat. Because her anus looks irritated, she could have intestinal parasite or her anal sacs could be impacted. If she isn't up to date on her deworming treatments, she will need on from the vet. Impacted anal sacs would also make her feel unwell, and not want to use the litter box. They may need to be expressed, and if you have never done this yourself, then I would have the vet do it. Finally, she could be constipated, which might be caused by any of the conditions I mentioned above, as well as low fiber in the diet and GI polyps. You can try mixing in some canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) in with her food to see if that helps her passes feces. Because she's not eating, I would try to tempt her to eat by gently heating up some really smelly wet food, such as sardine or fish based. If she is still showing these symptoms in the morning, then I would take her into the vet for an exam.

Oh my. Ginger could have a lower back injury or even an issue with his prostate. You really need to have him examined by your vet now so that they can palpate his lower back and belly to try and determine the underlying cause here. X-rays may also be needed to make a final diagnosis. The vet can then prescribe pain medication for Ginger to help him get more comfortable. Without a physical exam, we cannot localize pain. However, since Honey is not eating she may have a gastrointestinal cause of discomfort. The best thing to do is follow up with your veterinarian as soon as possible.

These are very concerning symptoms, and could fit several serious issues, such as GI obstruction, internal bleeding, infection, cancer, etc. I would recommend having Lily examined by a vet. After physical examination, the vet may recommend diagnostics such as blood work or x-rays to determine the best possible treatment.

Ginger needs to be examined by the veterinarian. Any pet that does not eat for 48 hours needs to be checked. It's possible she is sick or has gotten into something and it's best to play it safe. Hello Matthew! I am sorry to hear about Spotty. I would be very concerned about her. Cats are usually very good at hiding their pain, so if she is obviously yelping she is definitely in pain. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will do an exam and try to localize the pain to a certain area. I am concerned about her abdomen due to her lack of appetite. Things that would concern me in a young adult cat such as Spotty are foreign boys in the intestinal tract (did she eat a toy or a ribbon etc) or possible kidney infections. The vet will most likely want to do some bloodworm and possibly some radiographs (x-rays). If she hasn't been eating or drinking, she might need some supportive care such as IV fluids.
