My cat won't eat, is lethargic, and seems to be hurting. What's wrong?

It sounds as though Honey is quite nauseous with her licking her lips. There are many possible causes of what you are describing and because of that, I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would recommend starting with an examination and then having her blood tested to see if there are any concerning changes on her blood test. I am sorry Ava is not feeling well. Unfortunately Ava does need to go to a vet if she is not feeling well. A range of issues can cause her behavior from parasites, infection, virus and even trauma/toxins. The only way to determine the cause is to have a good exam and possibly test like blood work. I hope she feels better soon

It sound like your cat isn't feeling well. Anorexia (not eating) and lethargy are symptoms of many different illnesses, so without more symptoms, I can't pin down what might be causing her to act this way. I can say that any sudden change in behavior from the normal should be investigated your vet because there might be a medical cause behind it. In this case, I think it would be a good idea for your cat to see a vet, and I recommend taking her into your vet's normal business hours for a health check. Your vet would be best to determine if there is a medical illness, and how best to treat it.

Hello Matthew! I am sorry to hear about Spotty. I would be very concerned about her. Cats are usually very good at hiding their pain, so if she is obviously yelping she is definitely in pain. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will do an exam and try to localize the pain to a certain area. I am concerned about her abdomen due to her lack of appetite. Things that would concern me in a young adult cat such as Spotty are foreign boys in the intestinal tract (did she eat a toy or a ribbon etc) or possible kidney infections. The vet will most likely want to do some bloodworm and possibly some radiographs (x-rays). If she hasn't been eating or drinking, she might need some supportive care such as IV fluids.
