Is my cat in heat or injured? She's crouching, cooing, and slow.

Unfortunately, it's hard to know if this is pathological or if she is in heat? I recommend to look up information on heat cycles and watch videos. Also record the behavior on video. If this is not a heat cycle or if you are unsure if it is, I recommend to have her examined and have the doctor watch the video. It could be possible that Panda is in heat causing these symptoms you are seeing displayed. In the spring time, cats cycle quickly, and they go out of heat for a time period as short as one to two weeks. It could be she is going in and out of heat. Of course because I can't see her in person, I can't say this for certain, and there is a possibility that she may have pain in her back or hips causing this behavior. To be safe, I do think a visit with the vet is best just to make sure everything is ok. In my opinion, it's better to pay the fee to see a find and find nothing wrong, than not visit the vet and have it be something serious. Best of luck!

Yes, it is certainly possible that Yammy is in heat. She's the right age to go into heat for the first time, and the behavior she is showing can indicate being in heat as well. If Luna is performing this behavior of raising her bottom into the air for short periods of time, this can occur when a cat is in heat/estrus. If she is always walking with this position, it is not normal and could be a sign of a musculoskeletal or neurological problems and she should be examined by a veterinarian. Most veterinarians highly recommend spaying cats that aren't being used for a planned breeding program. Spaying decreases the chance of a dangerous uterine infection called pyometra which requires emergency surgery to remedy, as well as removes possibliity of uterine or ovarian cancer, and can improve behavior issues such as urinary marking/accidents outside the litterbox.

If she’s coming into heat she will be acting differently. Lots of meowing, rolling around and acting wild. She may try to go out to get bred.
