My cat fell, has a bleeding tooth and bruised face. What to do now?

Try gently rinsing out Mittens's mouth with cool water. If she is pawing at her face still, that tells me she is in a lot of pain and needs to see a vet now. Do NOT give her any human pain medications, many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Should she have stopped pawing at her face, you can wait until tomorrow to see the vet. Best of luck.

Oreo could have in addition to the broken tooth a jar fracture. I recommend he be checked out by a veterinarian as soon as possible. This is because the broken tooth can lead to a tooth root abscess as well as if the jaw is broken it will need some sort of stabilization procedure. In the meantime try feeding Oreo a very liquid diet such as a gruel of his normal food and plenty of water and keep it indoors at all times. Do not give any human pain medication as it can be very toxic to cats.

Mild bleeding should stop within the next 30-60 min. However, broken canine tooth should be extracted as there is an increased risk of infection and chronic pain through the exposed tooth pulp.

It is very important to take Moca to your local vet as soon as possible. She may be suffering from internal bleed (Dicynone is not very effective to prevent bleeding), lung trauma or fractured leg. Please, do not give her anything to eat (as your local vet may have to give her general anaesthesia for x-rays or a scan) and take her to your veterinarian as soon as your parents get back home.

I would make sure you clean the scratch using a solution of saline and Betadine (mix together until you have a light brown solution) and clean the cut using this solution. As for the tooth, it may or may not fall out on its own. The entire tooth may come out, in which case, nothing will likely need to be done, or part of the tooth may come out and the remainder of the root will be stuck in the tooth socket. If the root is left behind the fragment should be removed. If the tooth does not fall out on its own in the next 2-3 days, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would definitely recommend leaving it alone because you could cause some pain and injury by wiggling on it. However I would consider having your vet take a look at it because safe extraction if the canine tooth may be recommended to avoid having a huge hole left behind for foodstuffs to then get clogged into. If your vet extracts the tooth instead of just letting it fall out, the vet can then close the hole with suture. This is the best approach when dealing with diseases canine teeth especially, because this is the only tooth that can leave a hole that directly communicates with the nasal passages (oronasal fistula), so we take extra precautions with this tooth in particular. It really depends on how severe the damage is. If it is simply a case of some swelling the treatment may simply be to let her rest. However if she seems painful or is acting strangely then she would need to go to the vet as and possibly get an anti-inflammatory mefucation. They may need to do investigations also. Don't give her any at home painkillers as many are toxic to cats.
