My cat fell from a high place. What should I do before the vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 24 days old | 2.75 lbs

My cat fell from the sixth floor its about 21 - 25 meters give or take, this was about 12 hrs ago I can't take her to the vet for 6 more hours cuz my parents are away.. No bleeding from anywhere visible she's been given dcyinone for internal bleeding (on vet instructions) she doesn't want to eat or drink so we gave her milk through a syring and she accepted abit of tuna and she just limped to pee.. She can stand on one leg the other barely touches the ground.. She played a bit with a ribbon.

It is very important to take Moca to your local vet as soon as possible. She may be suffering from internal bleed (Dicynone is not very effective to prevent bleeding), lung trauma or fractured leg. Please, do not give her anything to eat (as your local vet may have to give her general anaesthesia for x-rays or a scan) and take her to your veterinarian as soon as your parents get back home.

I think your kitty was lucky to fall from the sixth floor rather than the second floor as during the fall she had time to turn onto her legs. This is why the legs hurt now. Best is to let her rest, feed her, make sure she has water, and make sure she does not have to walk far to her litter box.
Check her gums. If the gums are white then there is bleeding and you will need to give her another dycinone, preferably with food. Check her gums once every two hours. Since she landed on her feet, there is a good chance that there is no severe internal injury. Watch for labored breathing. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do other than rest her until the vet opens. She will definitely need to be seen by the vet and have xrays to check for fractures and a diaphragmatic hernia.

Keep little Muse calm and quiet and schedule a vet visit as soon as possible to evaluate the tooth and get pain medication if needed. It’s hard to tell if that adult canine is damaged or not- if so, dental X-rays or a dental cleaning and extraction may be recommended. If she seems not to want to eat, offer some canned food which may be easier to eat with a hurt mouth. I absolutely DO NOT recommend giving any sort of over the counter pain medication to Muse as they can be life-threatening and can interfere with medications your vet may want to use.

Hello. It sounds like at the very least she needs pain medications and may have internal injuries or fractures. She needs to see a vet as she is likely in pain. I would call your local clinic and explain your situation. Some places may be able to provide pain relief at no cost. Also, you can ask about charity groups or surrendering her. It sounds like she is in a lot of pain and you need to do something for her! Good luck with little Siracha.

My cat is bleeding and won't eat, is this an emergency?

OH my. I am not sure where she is bleeding from, but a coagulation disorder or bleeding disorder is likely the cause of her illness. A toxin ingestion or immune mediated condition is typically the cause for bleeding disorders in pets. I would highly recommend taking Miaw in to your local vet right away for treatment! She is in need of medical attention right away to hopefully stabilize her condition quickly. A blood test will likely be recommended to gather more clues as to the underlying cause for her bleeding problem and inappetence. My kitten fell from two floors and bled. Does he need a vet visit?

Poor little Coffee! It sounds like he suffered some trauma from this fall, and if he fell two floors, having him seen by a vet now would be fast. He is a young kitten, and they can be very fragile, and it's always recommended to have any kitten or cat checked out after a trauma to make sure there are no internal injuries. In my opinion, it would best to take him into a vet for a health check just to be safe. I hope this helps!

If you suspect a broken leg then I suggest you get her to a vet as soon as possible. A broken leg would be very painful and I'm sure if you had a broken leg you want to go to a doctor! Remember, not all injuries can be seen externally. She could have some internal injuries that you cannot see. Over the internet this is all I can offer you. Take your kitten to a veterinarian as soon as posdible in the event of trauma like this. Many things can happen including broken bones, damage to the lungs, lacerated organs, etc. Many times they fall on their faces and have facial or jaw fractures. A full exam will be performed and xrays will likely be recommended. Hopefully your kitten is okay and some pain medication can be prescribed.
