My cat licked Pet Armor Plus. Is her drooling and foaming normal?

The string of saliva may be due to a little nausea from licking the advantage. You need to part the hair and make sure that the advantage is applied directly to the skin to prevent it from running. Watch for any signs of vomiting or tremors. If you see either of these signs, have Chiky examined by your veterinarian.

The medication may have a bitter taste. When cats get something in their mouth that they don't want or like, they will drool profusely and foam at the mouth. If she will allow, rinse her mouth with cool water for 10-15 minutes. This may decrease drooling. Try mixing the medication into a bit of food and offering it. Once she eats it, you can feed the remainder of the meal. This may be enough to mask any bad taste.

One drop from the dog's vial of Frontline shouldn't be a problem. The concentration is often the same, just the volume applied is more for a dog. Keep an eye on her just to be safe but she's probably fine. If she does show any signs of sickness, refusal to eat or drink, lethargy, drooling, vomiting, etc., get her in to your vet or an emergency clinic right away.

It sounds like she either has fleas or she has something on her coat (like a foreign substance) that she is licking off. Cats often foam/drool when they taste something they don't like. I suggest you bathe her (if she will let you) and start her on a good flea prevention to cover all the bases.

Just keep an eye on her. She would need to eat a lot of the product to get sick. You may want to give some wet food with added water to get the product to pass through more quickly. I would expect some drooling as the only side effect. Do monitor her though and should you see any medical problems such as tremors or vomiting and diarrhea then I would take her in. Hi there! The product you placed on her has a few essential oils in it but nothing else. These are generally not toxic but could cause an upset stomach if ingested. The only worry I would have is the product not working as non of these oils in the product are efficacious in treating and preventing fleas in cats. I would try a Rx from your veterinarian. If Bell appears very irritated with the product on her, then I'd give her a bath to wash off the oils. A product called Revolution or Comfortis works very well. You may to ask your vet about getting Bell on either one of those or something similar.

Flea spray can cause a reaction such as you're describing, especially if she ingests some of it, which cats will often do while grooming. Hopefully it's just a reaction to the taste of the spray, and will pass quickly. If it continues for more than a couple of hours, or if she becomes lethargy or unsteady, take her in to the vet immediately, as she could have a more serious reaction to the medication. Also, if the spray contains pyrethrin, have her seen immediately, as this is highly toxic to cats.
