Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Hi, I have a 6 year old lynx point tabby and she loves to chew plastic, she doesn’t ingest and normally does it every time I come home from work, she’ll run right the plastic. Is this normal lol Thanks -britney

This may be a normal behavior for Sky but I would recommend you find a safer chew toy for her. My biggest concern is that she would ingest a piece of the plastic which could cause GI distress and/or a blockage.

If Sky starts chewing on other inappropriate items, is vomiting or having diarrhea, or goes off her food, I would recommend you take her in to your veterinarian to be examined.

I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
