What's the vet's opinion on Life Gold for cat cancer treatment?

I'm so sorry Tough Tony has aggressive cancer! I certainly understand why you would not want to pursue chemotherapy based on the side effects. The list is not extensive, but from what I can find, it appears to be safe to use them together. Keep in mind, there could be side effects from both medications, and it's always recommended to consult a veterinarian before using CBD oil to determine a treatment plan. Unfortunately herb mixtures will not kill Greg's cancer, and you have to be very careful with some of these "natural" remedies as they may contain ingredients that are toxic to cats. If your family is against chemo, you can do hospice care if he does not have a good prognosis without chemo. That involves keeping him as comfortable as possible, pain medications prescribed by the vet as needed. You can discuss with his vet if that's an option. Best of luck.

Prescription Royal Canin recovery canned diet is generally palatable (yummy) to even sick or hospitalized cats and is another option as well that your vet can either sell from his/her practice or prescribe. I do not recommend it. I see it's a product sold on Amazon, and typically these types of "natural" supplements do nothing and are a waste of money. I would speak to Tony's vet about putting him on a prescription kidney diet. Studies have shown cats live on average two years longer on a kidney diet who have kidney disease than cats not on a kidney diet who have kidney disease.

No studies have been done comparing the different potential sources to the best of my knowledge,. Rather the research has been approached as looking at fish oil as a whole. I suspect the salmon or cod are the best sources since they are more similar to mammals which generally means they are broken down easier. There are a few things to know and consider before starting this type of supplement. The only supplement that you could potentially add that could have anti-cancer activity but most importantly helps with the skin and joints is fish oil. I would recommend you get the commercial kind online or at your local pet store. Other than that, the best cancer diet is the diet that Jake loves as again there is no diet that has been proven to help with cancer. This is the time to make him happy so I would focus on a diet that he likes regardless of protein, fat or carbohydrate contents. Just make sure it is not too rich as it can upset his belly. That's a complicated recommendation to give, especially since we don't know the type of cancer. It is possible that local excision could be curative. It is also possible that after local excision and a diagnosis from histopathology, we find that amputation is needed. In my opinion solely based on the pictures, I would probably remove the tumor and not try to get aggressive clean borders and wait to see what the tumor is before doing anything more drastic.
