Why is my cat with calicivirus acting strange and losing weight?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 years and 1 month old

Hi George has been diagnosed with calichi virus and he is acting strange. He keeps going in and out and doesn't use the flap. He's lost weight. Although eating. He's been deflead and wormed.

Hi there. George may need antibiotics if his virus infection is leading to a secondary bacterial infection. These can explain weight loss, etc. He may also have ulcers around or in his mouth making him uncomfortable. It mate be that he is sick enough for hospitalization and fluids, etc to make him feel better. I hope this helps.
