My bunny has wet, glossy poop that looks like Nutella. Is he okay?

This is a normal type of feces for rabbits to make and is normally consumed directly from the anus, which is why most owners do not see it. Most rabbits eat this feces based on their vitamin needs and it can vary day to day. I recommend feeding Stanley a diet of rabbit pellets, hay, and occasional fresh fruits and veggies. The jelly like substance that you were seeing was likely mucous, and this usually comes from the colon when there has been a disruption in the way that the large intestine is moving. I am not sure if you can think of any diet changes that have occurred in the last week or so, or any stressful events - these are often the culprits of a one time jelly-like blob. The feces can also become a strange shape when this happens. If it only occurred the one time, I would just monitor Bugsy. If it continues, or if it happens again, I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian as this may be indicative of him being sick. A rabbit's intestinal tract is very important, and something as simple as this is often an indicator of illness/disease. He may have some minor GI upset. Discontinue feeding any fruits or vegetables temporarily. Feed only timothy hay or similar grasses. Offer as much as he wants. The high fiber may set his GI tract straight again. If not, have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites. Rabbits will also produce softer stool at night which is normal. You may see them eating this "night stool" as part of their diet.

It's solid but very dark, this could be either due to something he ate or due to bleeding from the stomach. if this stays the same for another few days it would be a good idea to get it checked bu your vet.

Rabbits have a very sensitive GI system. Some causes for loose/wet stools: * internal parasites (worms) * colitis * dietary indiscretion (ate a food she that was new to her) * stress Those are just a few reasons. My suggestion is to start her on a probiotic and if there is no change or the condition worsens then she will need to see a vet. Thank you for using PetCoach. She is adorable. The first thing to do is to make sure that Gorda's diet is approriate. Most pet rabbit do not need pelleted food or need very, very little. Hay and vegetables should make up the majority of her diet. For pet rabbits I stronly recommend spaying for behavioural benefits as well as for her health. https://rabbit.org/faq-spaying-and-neutering/ However is she is having very loose stool or acting abnormally, I would recommend a visit to a veterinarian that treats rabbits asap.
