Is it safer for my horse to give birth near a colt or a stallion?

I am afraid , that if you put your filly in with the stallion he may try to cover her and hurt her. I do not recommend this. You may want to board the filly where it can grow up amongst other foals and learn proper socialisation without having to worry about being bothered by the stallion.

Despite them all getting along under normal circumstances doesn't mean their presence during labor won't stress Lovely. When cats are stressed during labor they can delay delivery of the kittens. She should be in a quiet room that is familiar to her. The number of people should be limited. With one person checking on her every few hours. As for after the kittens are born I wouldn't allow the other cats in the room without you. Again just because they get along doesn't mean that one of the cats won't hurt the kittens. It is recommended that when a cat gives birth that she is in a quiet room of her own. It helps reduce stress, and female cats can get protective when their kittens are born. It's best to place Jess in her own room when she is close to giving birth and keeping the dog out of the room.

Hi there. Stallions (male horses that have not been castrated) are generally considered to be more aggressive and dangerous to work with than either mares (females) or geldings (castrated males). But it really depends on the individual horse - I have met some very gentle, easy-to-handle stallions as well.

If that is 48", it is not enough. A minimum of 5 foot fencing (6 feet from ground level is preferred) would be recommended. Some hot tape or hot wire would also be recommended to help keep them away. Watch your mare for signs of heat. They can be just as bad, or worse, than stallions when it comes to breeding. You may need to move her to a different paddock or keep her in the barn temporarily.

It's never recommended for a horse to have twins, as it is dangerous for the mare, especially during delivery. Typically when a horse is suspected to be pregnant, a rectal ultrasound is done, and if twins are detected, one of the embryos is aborted for the safety of the mare. If you are concerned that Sabrina may have twins, this is a medical emergency, and you need to call a vet immediately.
