Does this look like normal poop for a hamster? Compared to my friends hamster poop seems to be more firm and dark in color while my hamster seems to have softer poop and is a lighter color. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for reaching out about Leo. Dry feces can be a result of diet but also dehydration. Hamsters are desert animals and usually drink very little, acquiring water from their food item. Retained feces could also be a problem with intestinal motility, and should be assessed through a veterinary visit. A fecal examination for parasites is also recommended.
Good luck.

If he is passing feces regularly and not showing any sign of discomfort, constipation is not present and even if quite hard, consistency could be completely normal.
You can eventually try to vary his diet giving more greens and small amount of grass, clover, or carrots a day would be ideal.
