My hamster's overgrown tooth pierced cheek. What can the vet do?

It is a little difficult to judge based on this picture but if you can see the teeth when the mouth is closed then yes, he will need to have them trimmed. All hamster’s have continuously growing incisors that need to be worn down frequently. If the bite is off then the teeth will no wear properly and they will need to be trimmed. I would recommend having the teeth trimmed by your veterinarian because it can be a little tricky.

The tea has hopefully helped but you need to get him to a vet asap as most pressingly it looks like one of his teeth has overgrown so much it has come out of the cheek-what you say looks like a horn. I cant be 100% as the photos are blurry but it certainly looks likely. This could be effecting the eye also, but regardless the vet can check the eyes at the same time.

Your hamster is suffering from abnormal dentition, the lower incisors teeth are much too long compared to the upper ones. you need to get her to the vet to have the lower front incisors cut, the upper one that fell will regrow very soon.

Perhaps someone will be willing to take a chance or knows a vet who sees exotic animals. The tooth needs to be removed and likely antibiotics given, and she may need regular tooth trimmings. It is a risk if she needs anesthesia to remove the tooth, but unfortunately it sounds like she is in pain and cannot eat well so she is suffering and this either needs to be treated or she needs to be humanely euthanized.
