My hamster fell. How do I check for injuries and when to see a vet?

Hello, A fall could cause a traumatic brain injury, a spinal injury, bone fractures, or internal bleeding. If Casper has returned to normal activity levels and is eating well, he is likely fine. Hopefully he will be fine. However, limping could indicate a leg injury. Lethargy and decreased appetite could indicate internal damage/ or bleeding. Hello, sorry to hear about Max. If he is doing well now and seems to be back to normal, he may have just been startled from the fall. If he fell from a small height then perhaps you can continue to monitor him. If he fell from anything higher and you think he may be hurt, then I would definitely have him evaluated today. Monitor him and ensure he is able to walk on all four, ensure he is eating and drinking. Ensure he is able to defecate and make sure he is otherwise acting like his normal self. This definitely needs to be checked out by a vet. This isn't normal, and she is likely in pain from the fall. There are no OTC pain medications you can give, and leaving her in pain would be cruel to her. Please take her into a vet immediately.

There is a small chance if he hit his head and is bleeding internally. But if he is walking around, then he is likely going to be okay. He probably bit your brother because he is freaked out or hurting. I would leave him alone for a few days and just watch him to make sure he is eating and drinking. If he is not, then I would recommend to take him to your vet for an exam to make sure he doesn't need any medication.
