My hamster fell and bit my brother. Is he injured or will he be okay?

Hello, A fall could cause a traumatic brain injury, a spinal injury, bone fractures, or internal bleeding. If Casper has returned to normal activity levels and is eating well, he is likely fine. If Casper becomes lethargic or disinterested in food, it may be a sign of illness or pain that he needs to be seen by a vet. I hope this helps. Hopefully he will be fine. However, limping could indicate a leg injury. Lethargy and decreased appetite could indicate internal damage/ or bleeding. Thanks for reaching out about Greg. If you are referring to he was dropped from a distance, and then tried to bite, he could be painful. If you mean he is falling over on his own, it could be he is neurologic. If the problem persists, a veterinary visit is needed. Monitor for appetite and activity. Good luck.

Hello, sorry to hear about Max. If he is doing well now and seems to be back to normal, he may have just been startled from the fall. If he fell from a small height then perhaps you can continue to monitor him. If he fell from anything higher and you think he may be hurt, then I would definitely have him evaluated today. Monitor him and ensure he is able to walk on all four, ensure he is eating and drinking. Ensure he is able to defecate and make sure he is otherwise acting like his normal self. Hi there, and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Hamsters are very good at squirming out of our grasp, and can easily end up on the floor. Luckily, they usually are not much worse for the wear, as long as they don't hit anything on the way down. If Rosie is walking around and acting normally (eating and drinking, not limping or squeaking), she's probably fine. If anything changes, a vet visit is in order. Based on why you are describing I am concerned that Chewie may have suffered some sort of head trauma (perphaps by falling or hitting his head). I would recommend watching him closely over the next 24 hours. If he continues to eat and drink he will likely be ok. If he seems lethargic, doesn’t want to eat, and is not moving around, I would recommend taking him to your vet to be examined. He may need some pain medication to help the swelling in his head.
