My ferret's feet are burned and scabbed. What should I do for him?

Hey my ferret got lost and was in a heat vent for 2 days and we found him but his feet are burned and scabbed what can I do for him?

Poor Fuzzy! I'm glad that you found him! I recommend having him seen by a vet in case the wounds are infected or painful - your vet will be able to prescribe antibiotics and pain medication. In the meantime, you can apply SSD (silver sulfadiazene) ointment several times per day to the areas. You should also use soft, non-scratchy bedding until the wounds heal to prevent further trauma. As the areas heal, Fuzzy may lick them, so you may want to get him an E-collar or cone to prevent further trauma. I hope this helps and that Fuzzy feels better soon!
