My cat is bleeding in her litter box. Is she pregnant or miscarrying?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 5 lbs

Cinnamon who is 2 yrs old had a litter of babies 7 weeks ago. I think she may have ACCIDENTALLY got pregnant again exactly 31 days ago today. (My husband unknowingly let my now neutered male in the same room as her) This morning i noticed blood in her litter box. Not red or orange urine. Actual blood. She's acting, eating and drinking normal. If she was pregnant could this be a miscarriage? What could this be? There wasn't a ton of blood but definitely enough to concern me. Thanks for your help!

Poor Cinnamon. Unfortunately without seeing her in person, it is impossible to say for sure what could be the cause for the blood. It could be a urinary tract infection, a uterine infection, colitis (blood from anus), or even a miscarriage. I have see straight blood come from all of these conditions. I would strongly recommend have your vet take a look at her to try and figure out what could be causing the blood. Your vet may be able to determine whether or not she is pregnant and also determine the cause of the blood and get her started on the proper (and safe) meds to help her feel better. If she is having a miscarriage and the fetuses die but she doesn't expel of them, this could cause her to become really sick if left untreated. I hope this helps and you are able to figure out where the blood is coming from.

Why is my pregnant cat pooping blood? When should I see a vet?

If the blood was only in the feces, this could be compatible with a colitis, which is an inflammation of the last part of the colon, usually related to dietary indiscretion. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. It is usually related to bacterial infection of the bladder but it may be due to bladder crystals or stress. There are several possibilities: She had a miscarriage and the kittens were dead and she cleaned up, ie ate them. Or she had them and hid them. You will know soon, when she disappears once in a while....you may need to follow her secretly to find the babies. third possibilities is that the babies had some defects and she ate them. She will have a discharge for about a week , which should be odorless. If she gets lethargic, stops eating or if the discharge gets smelly she will need to be examined by a vet.

Why is my unspayed cat pooping blood and crying in pain during heat?

When pregnant, cats do not go into heat. Scarlett is either in heat and isn't pregnant, or is pregnant. It's concerning that she is pooping a little bit of blood, this could be from a GI illness, a foreign body, a sudden change in diet, or eating something rotten. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps her if it's only a little bit of blood. Feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, there is still blood in the poop, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.
