Why is my unspayed cat pooping blood and crying in pain during heat?

If the blood was only in the feces, this could be compatible with a colitis, which is an inflammation of the last part of the colon, usually related to dietary indiscretion. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. We do not normally see a bloody discharge in cats with heat cycles like we do in dogs. For this reason I would recommend an exam by your veterinarian. We could have blood coming from the reproductive tract from infection or a tumor, or we could have blood from the urinary tract which could be due to infection, inflammation, bladder stones, bladder tumors. The vet will do an exam and may recommend a urine test and an x-ray or ultrasound of the abdomen to help determine the cause of the blood.

If Asteria was having contractions, you would see her straining and likely breathing hard. In addition, if she were pregnant, she would not allow your male cat to mate with her. It could be that she is in heat, and that is why the male cat is mating with her. It is not normal for a cat to bleed after mating, however, and even though she doesn't seem to be in any pain, I would have Asteria seen by a vet right away. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can treated.

Vaginal bleeding in a non-cycling female is considered abnormal. If your cat is acting fine otherwise and does not appear to be in distress, this may be something that can wait until tomorrow. However, if you feel the vaginal bleeding is excessive (versus just a red discharge) enough to where blood loss is a true consideration, this is not something that should wait until morning. Poor Cinnamon. Unfortunately without seeing her in person, it is impossible to say for sure what could be the cause for the blood. It could be a urinary tract infection, a uterine infection, colitis (blood from anus), or even a miscarriage. I have see straight blood come from all of these conditions. I would strongly recommend have your vet take a look at her to try and figure out what could be causing the blood. Your vet may be able to determine whether or not she is pregnant and also determine the cause of the blood and get her started on the proper (and safe) meds to help her feel better. If she is having a miscarriage and the fetuses die but she doesn't expel of them, this could cause her to become really sick if left untreated. Oh no, poor Shadow! She could be having a pyometra (infected uterus) event or another internal illness. None of these symptoms are normal for a cat in heat or just coming out or heat. And any cat that doesn't eat for more than a day should be examined by a vet because cats are masters at hiding diseaseand illness until they are really really sick. I would recommend taking Shadow in to be seen, examined and blood analysis ran to hopefully determine the underlying issue so that we know how best to treat her.
